Description

Most art experts are convinced, and keep insisting, that only the original work of art conveys its true aesthetic value. Yet today, many exhibitions—even in leading museums (such as the Louvre)—show reproductions and still attract large numbers of visitors.

Bruno S. Frey will apply this insight to advance two propositions: (1) how to deal with the problem of restitutions (such as the Benin Bronzes); and (2) how Venice can be saved in view of the huge number of visitors who, over time, destroy this unique treasure.
