DESCRIPTION:After the great success of the 1st conference\, we are excited
to invite you to the 2nd Annual Conference on Aesthetic Development on No
vember 20\, 2025\, at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics.Th
e Conference is a highly interdisciplinary and seeks to understand aesthet
ic development across different art forms. \nChildren naturally engage wi
th the visual arts\, music\, dance\, theater\, and literature from an earl
 y age\, expressing themselves through aesthetic responses\, experiences\,
and creative productions. This raises important questions: Can we develop
a unified framework for understanding aesthetic development across differe
nt art forms? Do various aesthetic domains follow similar developmental pa
ths\, or do they rely on comparable principles? How do aesthetic responses
and productions connect with broader social\, emotional\, and cognitive d
evelopment? The conference will explore these and other questions related t
o aesthetic development.\n\n\n\n\nAs part of the conference\, we are looki
ng forward to inspiring keynotes by Julia F. Christensen (Max Planck Insti
tute for Empirical Aesthetics)\, Rhett Dissner (online\; Lewis-Clark Stat
 e College\, Lewiston\, US)\, Bettina Kümmerling-Meibauer (Eberhard Karls
University of Tübingen) and Daniel Müllensiefen (University Hamburg). \
n\n\n\n\nResearchers from all disciplines are warmly invited to participat
e.\nWe welcome submissions that address:\n\nEarly psychological precursors
of aesthetic judgments and productions.\nDevelopmental trajectories of a
esthetic appreciation and artistic creativity.\nThe role of social\, emot
ional\, and cognitive development in shaping aesthetic responses and pro
ductions.\nDifferences in aesthetic experiences and productions between c
hildren and adults.\nComparative studies on aesthetic development across
different art forms.\nThe potential for a unified theory of aesthetic deve
 lopment or related organizing principles.\n\n\nhttps://indico.ae.mpg.de/ev
